Glenda Jean Moyer

Glenda Jean Moyer, age 70 of Elkhart went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Hamilton Grove Nursing Facility in New Carlisle, Indiana.   Glenda was born October 17, 1946 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Glenn A. & Eleanor “Jean” (Fallis) Moyer.  She grew up and lived her entire life in Jimtown until February of 2010 when she relocated to Hamilton Grove.  She was employed for more than 20 years with Whitehall Laboratories before retiring due to a disability.

Surviving is her daughter Kate (Jim) Merkle of Niles, Michigan, her sister Kathy Moyer of Osceola, and her nephew Scot Moyer of Carrollton, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her brother Harry “Spike” Moyer.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Osceola.  There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 11am funeral service at the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8, 2017.  Interment will be private in Olive Cemetery.

In her spare time, Glenda enjoyed working in her yard, tending to the roses in her garden, and spending time outdoors.  She was also a longtime member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church.

Glenda’s family would like to thank the staff at Hamilton Grove and Heartland Hospice for the care and concern shown to Glenda in her time of need over the years.
