Anna Marie (Raab) Mahler

Anna Marie Mahler, age 86 of Osceola, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Hospice House of Elkhart County.  Anna was born August 19, 1931 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Martin Peter and Harriet E. (Fincher) Raab.  Anna graduated from Madison High School and went on to study at the Elkhart Business School.  On September 6, 1953, she married RB Mahler at the Jamestown United Methodist Church.  They celebrated 64 years of marriage. 

RB survives, along with their children Cheryl (Jeff) Cabanaw of Osceola, Pamela (Kurt) Siebert of Mishawaka, Kathie (Clay) Nash of South Bend, Nancy Mahler of Osceola, Ronald (Brenda) Mahler of Elkhart, Lora (Chris Geyer) Mahler of Osceola, and Loren (Dawn) Mahler of Worth, Illinois.  Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, her brother Martin Edward (Sue) Raab and her brother in law Floyd Bonner.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Harriett Bonner. 

Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, July 13, 2018 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10 am funeral service on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Jamestown United Methodist Church, 59218 County Road 3, Elkhart, Indiana.  Interment will follow in Olive Cemetery, Elkhart.

Anna was employed as a title insurance clerk for Elkhart County Abstract until her retirement after 41 years of service.  In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and reading.  She volunteered for several years with the Penn Township 4H Advisory Board, and was a longtime member of Jamestown United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Jamestown Women’s group.

Most of all Anna put her faith in the Lord and her family first.  She enjoyed spending time helping her kids with their animals at the 4H Fair, and at one time, all 7 children participated at once.
