Barbara Jean (North) Zimmer

Barbara J. Zimmer, 83, of Mishawaka, passed away at 10:40 am, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Hospice House of South Bend surrounded by her loving family.  Barbara was born on October 1, 1934 in Wolverine, MI, the daughter of the late Billie G. and Georgia W. (Brown) North. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Bontrager of Mishawaka, eight children, Vickey (Jeff) Skeeters of Mishawaka, Alan “Gene” Cranmer of Ft. Worth, TX, William (Sue) Cranmer of  South Bend, Tami Cline of Bremen, Sandra Young of Titusville, FL, Jeanine Bontrager of Panama City, FL, Stuart (Mary) Bontrager of Janesville, WI, and Valerie (Jon) Peterson of Brodhead, WI; 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister, Thelma (Mel) Weber of New Carlisle, IN.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Allen Zimmer, grandson, Corey Cranmer and sister, Francis “Honey” Weber. Barbara was the seamstress for JC Penney for many years before her retirement.  She was an active member of Gospel Center Missionary Church, South Bend.  She was also very active in Women’s Care Center.  She was a kind loving woman of God.  She loved the Lord and her family.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 12, 2018 in the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior.  Rev. Jon Ranous will officiate.  Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
