Claire Theresa (Corp) Herring

Claire Theresa Herring, age 63 of Mishawaka passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend following a brief illness.  Claire was born July 4, 1956 in St. Ignace, Michigan to Don and Donna (Paquin) Corp.  At the age of one, Claire won a cutest baby contest.  She attended Washington High School, Sacred Heart High School, and William G. Mather High School. Claire later received a degree in cosmetology and worked as a cosmetologist before taking accounting courses.  On September 24, 1994, she married William Herring in Mishawaka. 

            William survives, along with her son Damion Corp and his wife Jantha of Elkhart.  Surviving as well is her father Don Corp of Munising, Michigan and 2 grandchildren. Payton and Lauryn Corp.  Surviving as well are her siblings Wendy (Tedd) Cruz, Perry (Martha) Corp, Ellen (Dan) Greer, Stanley (Cecilia) Corp, Melanie (Dennis) Reitano, Marnie (Steve) Sheffer, and Sam Corp.  Her mother Donna and her sister Lisa Corp preceded her in death.

            Services for Claire will be private.  Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola is assisting with arrangements.

            Claire was employed for many years as a cashier at Walgreens in Granger, Indiana.  Her interests outside of work included the arts and fashion.  She also enjoyed being home with her husband watching tv, shopping online, and working crossword puzzles.   She loved her family immensely, especially her grandchildren.  Each year, Claire would look forward to a trip North to Michigan to spend time with her loved ones and childhood friends.
