Elizabeth M. (Gyarmati) Noens

Elizabeth Mary Noens, age 94 of Mishawaka, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.  Elizabeth was born March 30, 1923 in Bourbon, Indiana to the late Joseph and Victoria Gyarmati.  On May 30, 1941, she married Paul L. Noens at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka.  Paul preceded her in death, passing away in 1992.

Surviving are her children Lawrence Noens of Osceola, Leonard Noens of Granger, and Judy Noens of Mishawaka.  Also surviving is her brother Joe Gyarmati of Mishawaka, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her sisters Bernice and Irene.

Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Osceola, Indiana.  There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka on Monday, February 26, 2018.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Paul.

Together, Paul and Elizabeth owned Noens Supermarkets and later owned Noens Evergreen Gardens until retiring in 1969.  She was a longtime member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and in her spare time enjoyed sewing and fishing with her husband.
