Francis R. "Pete" Scheibelhut

Francis R.  “Pete” Scheibelhut of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully on April 8 2019 in South Bend, Indiana at the age of 86.  Pete was born on January 3, 1933 in Mishawaka, IN to  the late Francis and Myrtle (Walker) Scheiblehut. After School Francis enlisted in the United States Navy where he served honorably until his discharge in 1950.   He married Mildred Ford, in 1955. Mildred preceded him in death, passing away in February of 1998

 Pete is survived by seven children; Gary Bryce, Dennis (Vicki) Bryce. Roxanne (Glen) Miller. Karen Durbin, Kenneth Schiebelhut, Sherri (Tom) Beck, and Cindy Burgess. Francis had 3 brothers and 1 sister all whom have preceded him in death. Francis was also preceded in death by his daughters Sherri and Cindy and his son Kenneth. He had several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, April 12, 2019.  Interment and Military Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.  Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola has been entrusted with his arrangements.

Pete was a lifelong member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.  He was employed for many years as a tool grinder at Dodge Manufacturing in Mishawaka.  In his spare time, Pete loved to garden and landscape, repair televisions, and take long walks. His feisty spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
