George Motts

George W. Motts, age 99, passed away at his home in Sylmar CA on, March 30, 2018.  George was born in Osceola on May 1, 1918 to the late Jacob and Sylvia (Schmeltz) Motts. 

Surviving are his children Keith (Marlene) Motts of Sylmar, CA, Candace (Marty) Ford of S. Daytona, FL, Christena Walker of Baldwin Park, CA & George Motts of Port Isabel, TX.  Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his siblings Forrest, Clyde, & Raymond Motts and Grace Hill. 

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, April 6, 2018 at Noffisinger Cemetery in Elkhart.  Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola is assisting with arrangements.

George was employed for 65 years as a Firefighter in L.A. serving 50 years with the city of Los Angeles, and 15 years with the Los Angeles County Fire Department before his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time traveling with his grandchildren.
