Lora Nadine (Olson) Bishop

Lora “Nadine” Bishop, age 91 of Elkhart, formerly of Osceola went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital.  Nadine was born June 18, 1927 in Osceola, IN to the late Martin & Hermina (Hoberg) Olson. On Nov. 22, 1947, she married Floyd “Bud” Bishop in Elkhart, IN.  Bud preceded her in death, passing away Sept. 14, 1993.

            Surviving are her sons Allen K. (Barbara) Bishop of Mishawaka, Kevin D. Bishop of Tavernier, FL, and Donald M. Bishop of Ferndale, MI.  Also surviving is her sister Annette J. Stouder of Elkhart, 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Vicki Sue Cornell and  her siblings Beverly Boots, Donna Chapla, Alberta Nelson, Conrad Olson, and Devon Olson. 

            Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  There will also be one hour of viewing prior to the 10am funeral service on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at the Osceola United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.

            Nadine was a longtime member of the Osceola United Methodist Church where she sang for many years in the choir and was involved with the Ladies’ ministries. She was employed for several years as a keypunch operator at Miles Laboratory in Elkhart.  In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and knitting, was an avid reader, taking walks, and feeding the birds and squirrels.  She was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post 308 Ladies Auxiliary in Osceola.
