Peggy Ann (Dews) Holst

Peggy Ann Holst, age 69 of Osceola, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at 12:20 pm Friday, August 10, 2018.  Peggy was born July 15, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana.  On December 6, 1974, she married Donald Craig Holst in Mishawaka.  They most recently celebrated 43 years of marriage.

            Craig survives, along with their children Debbie (Greg) Kochersperger of Goshen, Mark Phelps of Mishawaka, Donald C. (Ann) Holst Jr. of South Bend, and Andrea (Garrett) Swanson of South Bend.  Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; Cassie, Joshua, Jacob, Ariana, Rudy, Branden, Alyssa, Braylen, Serenity, Jayson, Deklan, Preston, Alex, Phoenix and Grace, and several great grandchildren.  Surviving as well is her brother Danny Dews Sr. of Mishawaka.  Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Fred Dews and Annabelle (Modesitt) Gilmore and her grandson Donald Winfield Holst.

            Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Osceola, with a celebration of Peggy’s life to follow at 7pm. 

            Peggy was employed for many years as a financial customer service representative at First Source Bank before her retirement at the age of 59.  After retirement, she and Craig enjoyed traveling to the UP for rest and relaxation. In her spare time, she was a successful sales representative for Party Lite and Tupperware and enjoyed spending time online and playing online games. 

            Peggy will be fondly remembered for her fantastic sense of humor, her quick wit, & sarcasm, and her love for tacos.  She was a wonderful listener who put her family above all else.  She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
