William "Billy" L. Holtsclaw-McCarthy

William Lewis “Billy” Holtsclaw-McCarthy, age 38 of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, November 30, 2019.  Billy was born January 2, 1981 in South Bend, Indiana.  Billy attended Adams High School and was employed by St. Joseph County for 9 years prior to becoming an over the road truck driver for Rely Trucking of Chicago.

Surviving are his parents Cheryl and Chris McCarthy of South Bend, Frank Holtsclaw Jr., and his siblings Kathryne (Derick) Vigansky, Krystal (Andrew) Fanin, Frank (Jill) Holtsclaw, Brock (Maranda) Holtsclaw, Brent (Caity) Holtsclaw, Jessica (Chad) DeBeck and Johnathan Yoder.  He is also survived by his grandparents William and Rebecca McCarthy of Osceola and Betty Holtsclaw, and sixteen nieces and nephews.  Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents Vernon and Esther Batten and Frank Holtsclaw Sr.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Friday, December 6, 2019 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola, with funeral services to follow at 6:00 pm.  Cremation will follow and interment will be held in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend, at a later date.

In his spare time, Billy enjoyed tailgating at the Notre Dame football games, fishing, and riding motorcycles.  He also loved to work with Semi-trucks and other heavy equipment.  Most of all, he loved his nieces and nephews, and enjoyed playing games and watching tv with them.
