Alan Dale Miller passed away on October 17, 2026, surrounded by his family and friends during his final hours. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Alan leaves behind his loving wife, Joanne Miller; his “darling daughters,” and son in laws, Pam Renner (Jim) and Valerie Simmons (Bob); and his two stepsons, Andrew Gilbert and Matt Gilbert. He was a cherished grandfather to Hunter, Cashlyn, Casey, Nolan, Dylan, Madilyn, and Colin, all of whom brought joy and love to his life.

He is also survived by his brother, Mitchell Miller, and his two sisters, Randa Persinger and Barb Miller-Sohr. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Miller, and his brother, Creighton “Mick” Miller.

Alan graduated from Washington High School in 1967. He graduated from Purdue University in 1971 and remained a proud Boilermaker. Throughout his career, Alan worked at Associates, H&R Block, and Liberty Mutual before retiring.

In his younger years, Alan enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, and softball. As the years went by, he continued to enjoy the things that made life special to him, especially spending time with family, taking drives and singing with his wife, traveling (especially to Las Vegas,) going to the movies, visiting the casino and playing 100-hand video poker. He also loved playing Sudoku, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!.

Above all, Alan treasured the time he spent with the people he loved. His family was an important part of his life, and the memories they shared will remain a lasting source of comfort and happiness. Whether enjoying a family gathering, watching a movie or his favorite game shows, solving Sudoku puzzles, or simply spending time together, Alan found joy in life’s everyday moments.

Alan will be remembered with love for the life he lived, the memories he created, and the special place he held in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he is deeply missed, his memory lives on through the many lives he touched and the love he leaves behind.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever a part of the family he cherished.
