BERNARD DEAN SLOUGH March 24, 1929 - December 29, 2013
ELKHART- Bernard Dean Slough, 84, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Sunday December 29, 2013 at Riverside Village. He was born March 24, 1929 in Elkhart to Gerald & Mildred (Jones) Slough. Om March 24, 1950 in Elkhart he married Carleene A. Rees. She survives along with 2 children, Sandra Rhoades and Kenneth "Ken" Dean (Susan Bailey) Slough both of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and a sister, Donna Hamma of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Delores Gould and Marilyn Haley. Bernard was a former volunteer with Cleveland Township Fire Department played the trumpet for Youth for Christ and preached at several area nursing homes. He retired in 1992 from Reese Products where he was a foreman in the shipping department and a brake press operator. Family and friends are invited to an open house for Bernard from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at his home at 54660 Eisenhower Drive, Elkhart, IN. Burial has taken place in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
