Betty Zimmerle

Betty Zimmerle, 97, of Elkhart entered Heaven’s gates on Friday, August 1, 2025, with family by her side. She was born on February 26, 1928, in Bristol to the late Henry and Stella (Fisher) Detwiler and married Lloyd Zimmerle on July 12, 1964.

Surviving are her two sons, Lon and Lynn Zimmerle, both of Elkhart, and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her four siblings.

Betty was a talented seamstress who spent many years sewing and quilting, continuing to share her gifts until just a few years ago when her health began to decline. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and cherished the time she spent with her family, finding joy in their company and the memories they created together.

A time to celebrate her life is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 5-8pm at Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola. The funeral service is scheduled at 11 am at Cornerstone Baptist Church on Thursday, August 7, after the hour of visitation prior to service. A private burial will follow the services at California Road Cemetery.
