Bryan Paul Hiler of Wakarusa, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2025 following a brief illness. Bryan is survived by his parents, Jack and Kathy Hiler, and his brothers, Eric (Debbie) Hiler and Jeremy (Katie) Hiler, along with ten nieces and nephews.
Being “Uncle B” to Nicole (Joe), Renee, Jason, Brady, Carson, Mia, Judah, Landon, Max, and Corinne, and “Great Uncle B” to Hudson and Bennett was one of Bryan’s greatest joys When each child was welcomed home, Bryan was one of the first to visit and dote on the new family member. Each birthday and Christmas included a large family gathering and a proper spoiling from Uncle B. Some of Bryan’s most prized possessions were original artwork from his nieces and nephews. He was a prayer warrior as the kids grew from babies into teens and young adults, praying for health, wisdom, and their salvation.
Bryan was raised and spent his life in northern Indiana. After graduating from Elkhart Baptist Christian School in 1996, Bryan attended Grace College earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He used his business knowledge to work at the family company, Stripco, Inc. in Mishawaka, IN with his dad and brothers until 2015.
Once “retired” from Stripco, Inc, Bryan began raising hogs and cattle. Animals and farming were passions of Bryan’s. He also had horses, dogs, and cats over the years that would all come running when he called. His most recent loves were his four tuxedo cats who were rescued as orphaned kittens. They lived their best life on his farm and kept him company at home.
Among his other passions were woodworking, metal working, designing and making stained glass, and watchmaking. Bryan was a skilled repairman, designer, and maker of beautiful watches. His favorite watchmaker to study was Abraham-Louis Breguet. According to Bryan, no other watch or watch brand held a candle to a Breguet watch, and don’t try to argue because his expertise was vast. He would travel all over the world in search of knowledge, parts, and pieces.
The entire Hiler family would like to thank the incredible ICU nurses, doctors, and staff at Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and patience during Bryan’s stay.
Visitation for Bryan will be held at Osceola Grace at 58343 Apple Road, Osceola, IN 46561 on Friday June 13, 2025 from 3pm-5pm with the memorial service at 5pm and dinner to immediately follow. He will be interned at Chapel Memorial Gardens in a private graveside service. Arrangements entrusted to Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola.
In lieu of flowers, donations or time may be given to LoveWay Inc in Middlebury, IN. LoveWay is a non-profit organization that uses equine therapy to “empower children with disabilities to live their best lives.”
