Clair Kelly

September 4, 1943 — August 3, 2025

Elkhart

Clair Kelly, 81, of Elkhart bravely fought until his passing on Sunday, August 3, 2025, with family by his side. He was born on September 4, 1943, in Harrisburg, PA to the late Burton and Grace (Miller) Kelly. Clair married Frieda Joyce Kelly in 1972, who passed in 1992, and later married Joyce Warman in 1995, who also preceded him in death on May 28, 2024.

Surviving are his children, Gene (April) Kelly of Elkhart, Kevin (Eloise Guthals) Kelly of Constantine, MI, and stepson, Joe (Kim) Warman of Elkhart. Six grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Brandon (Elizabeth) Kelly, Destany, Hanna, Dakota, and Hunter Kelly; along with 8 great-grandchildren: Justin Current, Jennavecia, Jaquan, and Ke’Andre Johnson, Taya Kelly, and Anastasia and Azalea Greulich, and close personal friends Jack (Karen) Medford also survive. Along with his parents, Clair was preceded in death by his siblings, Esther, Virginia, Ronald, Donald, and Burton.

Clair hung up his keys in 2015 after driving local trucks for LaSalle of Bristol and Pinnacle RV. When he wasn’t working, you could usually find him at an airshow or wandering through a museum, where he loved exploring anything to do with airplanes and flight. He proudly cheered on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and had a soft spot for old westerns and the cowboy way of life. More than anything, though, Clair was a man of faith who loved his family deeply.

Cremation has taken place with no formal services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Center for Hospice Care.
