Craig Lloyd Roeder, age 80, of Mishawaka, passed away at the Center for Hospice Raclin House on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Craig was born March 11, 1946, in Bremen, Indiana, to the late Lloyd and Marjorie (Guard) Roeder. He graduated from Bremen High School and went on to attend Murray State University on a basketball scholarship, an opportunity that reflected both his athletic ability and competitive spirit.

Following his time at Murray State, Craig returned home and dedicated his life to public service. He served the Mishawaka community for 22 years with the Mishawaka Police Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant in the Detective Bureau before retiring in 1990. After his law enforcement career, Craig continued working in security, taking a position with Simon and DeBartolo as the regional security supervisor for the Southeast region for several years.

While Craig took great pride in his career, his family was truly the center of his life. He traveled to Hawaii to visit his son Todd while he was stationed there in the military, and he spent many years traveling across the United States following his son Steve during his Major League Baseball career in the 1990s. Craig loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, always enjoying the opportunity to be together and share in their lives.

Craig was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Di Amici’s Italian Club in Mishawaka. He was also an avid fan of Notre Dame sports and rarely missed the chance to follow the Fighting Irish.

He is survived by his children, Tami (John) Douglas of Acworth, Georgia; Steve (Annabell) Roeder of Granger, Indiana; and Todd (Stephanie) Roeder of Smith Station, Alabama. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Michael (Ariel) Roeder, Kelcie (Brandee) Roeder, Christian (Sonja) Roeder, Zack (Maddison) Roeder, Jacob (Bethany) Roeder, and Darren DeLong, along with his great grandchildren, Indie Jo, Madden, Jaydyn, Jamison, Jaxon, John, and Jacob. Craig was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kay Bailey.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral services. His family asks that you each remember him in your own special way.
