David J. Coyner

June 5, 1953 — July 4, 2025

Osceola

David J. Coyner, 72, of Osceola, bravely fought until the end when he passed at home, Friday, July 4, 2025, with family by his side. He was born in Niles, MI on June 5, 1953, to the late Norman and Mary Lou (Murphy) Coyner.

Surviving are his four daughters, Marcy (Ricardo) Garcia of South Bend, Natasha (Josh) Wolf of Fountain City, IN, Tiffany (Jeremiah Brownbridge) Williams of Osceola, Megan (Eric) Holt of South Bend, and; 8 grandkids, Mario Garcia, Lennon Holt, Owen, Adelaide, and Lina Brownbridge, Sienna and Xrryant Fraser, and Remington Wolf; and sister, Laura Zillman. Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Linda, and longtime companion, Trudy Elkins-Cox

David proudly served in the Army National Guard and worked as a welder by trade. Outside of work, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and racing RC cars for over 20 years in the Michiana area. A true fan of action movies, he especially loved The Shawshank Redemption, often rewatching it, since he tended to fall asleep before the end. David was also a talented woodworker who cherished the time spent building projects with his father. One of his proudest accomplishments was designing and building a large playhouse from scratch for his children.

Cremation has taken place with no formal services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to USO in memory of David. To light a virtual candle, share a story of David’s life, or extend a message of comfort to his family, please visit the Guestbook.
