Dennis Karl Ditsch, 78, of Osceola, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Elkhart General Hospital. Born on April 1, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana, Dennis was the son of the late Harold and Betty (Ritchey) Ditsch. He graduated from Mishawaka High School and spent many years working as a skilled pattern maker for ComTack Tool and Die before retiring more than two decades ago. During his career, he was a proud member of the Pattern Makers Union. On May 29, 1982, Dennis married Patricia A. Samuels in Osceola, and they shared 41 years of love and laughter together.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Patricia, and his daughters, Tina (Mark) Cramer and Tammy (Mark) Freeman. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren; Karl Perkins, Dawnta Perkins, Joshua (Stephanie) Garman, Rob (Lauren) Garman, William Garman, and Caylee Freeman and nine great-grandchildren; Adam, Collin, Lena, Daisy, Jaydin, Cash, Anastin, Kendall and Kiersten, along with his great great grandson, Emmett. He is also survived by his brother Doug (Nina) Ditsch and his sister Betty Jo (Bill) Fick. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold “Bud” Ditsch.
Dennis was outgoing and social. He loved a good game of golf and was a devoted Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed spending time with friends at Mr. G’s and the Pressbox, and he took great pride in keeping his yard immaculate, often found riding his lawn mower with a smile. Above all, Dennis cherished time with his grandchildren. They were the light of his life.
