Dennis W. Wise, 59, of South Bend, Indiana, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 15, 1967 in in Franklin, IN, to the late Robert Wise and Judith (Knott) Wise.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Judith; his children, Joshua (Jamie Woolet) Wise of Logan, UT, and Londyn (Chayce) Baker of Elkhart; his three beloved grandchildren; and his siblings, Laura (Randy) Schmidt, Robert Wise, and Jay (Jennifer) Wise, all of South Bend.
Dennis was a hard worker who took pride in his work in quality assurance and had an eye for detail. Outside of work, he was an avid gamer who particularly enjoyed Minecraft, World of Warcraft, and the original Civilization for DOS. One of his greatest joys was sharing his love of gaming with his son, Josh. The two spent countless late nights taking turns attempting to beat what he claimed was “the hardest game ever made”—Ghosts ’n Goblins on the classic NES. Dennis was also an enthusiastic sports fan who loved cheering on Notre Dame football and Indiana University basketball, as well as following IndyCar racing.
Dennis enjoyed staying active through cycling and, especially, running, a passion he shared with his daughter, Londyn. At the time of his passing, Dennis was working toward his goal of running a race in every state, having already completed races in most Midwestern states.
Above all, Dennis cherished spending time with his family, especially in his role as a father and grandfather. He also shared a special bond with his beloved “ride or die” cat, Kitty Kitty Boo Boo. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation has taken place with a private family celebration of life to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Wounded Warrior Project.
