Edmond Forrest DeLaurelle, 54, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness on October 21, 2021.  He was born in Mishawaka on January 27, 1967, to the late Edmond H. DeLaurelle and Dorothy (Eby) DeLaurelle.  He was raised in Granger, and settled in Osceola.  He leaves behind his life partner of 22 years, Teri Johnson Polston, and sons Alexander Polston of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Mitchell Polston of Avon, Indiana.  He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy DeLaurelle of Granger, and sisters Linda (Dan) Wojciechowski of Mishawaka, Teena (Jeffery) Nash of Hartland, Wisconsin, and Sara DeLaurelle of Granger; nieces and nephews Lisa Troup, Laurie Troup Komlanc, Jennifer Wojciechowski Swope, Dan Wojciechowski III, Amy Rinehold Scott, Mia Rinehold Datena, Dana Rinehold Baker, Abbie Nash, Adam Nash, Michael Bonebrake, Chelsea Bonebrake Jarvis, and many great nieces and nephews.  Surviving as well are Teri’s parents, Mike (Shirley) Johnson of Lakeville, Indiana and Norma Royer of Elkhart, Indiana, along with  her 6 siblings and 13 nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father, Edmond DeLaurelle and sister Debora DeLaurelle Rinehold.

Ed graduated from Penn High School in 1985, where he was on the wrestling team.  He attended Southwestern Michigan College and in 1999, Ed took a position as a Network Administrator at Martins Supermarkets. Throughout his career, Ed became close with many of his co -workers in the corporate office, the IT department and management at Martins and considered most of them to be like his extended family.

He loved traveling, cruising and island hopping.  His favorite destination was Barbados.  Ed loved to spend time fishing with his nephews and several close friends.  The times he spent fishing with them has left memories that will last a lifetime. He also enjoyed hunting, playing golf, computer gaming and watching sports.  His favorite teams were the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Blackhawks, and USC (to the dismay of his Notre Dame family and friends).

Cremation has taken place, and per his request, there will be no formal service.   A private family gathering will take place at a later time. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ed’s name to “Servants At Work, Inc” online at www.Sawsramps.org or 8427 Zionsville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268.  Please note on your donation that you’d like donations to be used in St. Joseph County.
