George Larry Schneck

George Larry Schneck, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2026, at his home in Elkhart. Larry was born on February 8, 1939, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late George and Vera (Rensberger) Schneck. On November 24, 1978, he married Susanna “Sue” Hollingsworth at Harris Prairie Church of Christ. Sue preceded him in death on January 24, 2021. Larry Larry was a hardworking man who always provided for his children and put his family first. He was employed as an accountant for Bayer Corporation for more than 36 years before retiring in 1997.

Larry is survived by his children, Larry (Dalys) Schneck of St. Cloud, Florida, and Becky (Dave) Hayden of Niles, Michigan; six grandchildren, Larry Allen (Alyssa) Schneck, David (Paula) Schneck, Michael Schneck, Chelsea Hoeflinger, Chase (Brittney) Hoeflinger, and Stacey Hayden; and four great-grandchildren, Kamryn Hoeflinger, Caroline Schneck, Samuel Schneck, and Micah Hayden. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Ann Schneck.

Larry enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner out and loved traveling with Sue. Together they attended many gospel concerts and traveled throughout the United States and abroad, including trips to Japan, Panama, Italy, Iceland, and Canada. He enjoyed camping, sitting around a campfire, and spending time with family. Larry was a man of great conversation who never passed up the chance to stir the pot in a fun and friendly way. In his younger years, he took great pride in keeping an immaculate yard and tending to his gardens. He always liked to stay busy.

Most importantly, Larry was a man of deep faith. Throughout his life, he was active in several churches, including Salem Missionary Church, California Road Missionary Church, Harris Prairie Church of Christ, and most recently Cedar Road Missionary Church, where he was a faithful member and was loved by many.

Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the 4:00 p.m. memorial service on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Cedar Road Missionary Church in Osceola. A private burial will take place at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
