Harvey Allen Taylor, age 95 of Mishawaka, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026. He was born on September 18, 1930 in Mishawaka to the late Howard W. and Ethel F. (Compton) Taylor. Harvey graduated from Mishawaka High School with the Class of 1948 and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served honorably in Korea and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his commitment to the Marine Corps, Harvey married Betty Davies on December 31, 1954. She preceded him in death in 1998.

He is survived by his sons, Mark Taylor, Mike (Lin) Taylor, and Dave (Michelle Alter) Taylor; his grandchildren, Mark Jr., Monica, Matthew, Beth, James, Billy, Jen, Josh and Tonya; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Jane Fricano, Joyce Young, and Carol Lokomski. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Joann Jones, George “Bud” Taylor, Warren “John” Taylor, and Howard “Tom” Taylor; his longtime companion, Ritacarol Benjamin and his daughter-in-law, Janice Taylor.

Harvey worked as a bricklayer for many years and was a foreman with Ramenda Masonry before retiring at age 66. He was a longtime member of BAC Local 4.

Outside of work, Harvey enjoyed bowling and was active in local leagues. He rolled the first 300 game at PNA Lanes and was named Bowler of the Year in 1965. He also served as president of East End Little League, where he helped build the dugouts that still stand today.

Harvey was a dedicated provider who worked hard and supported his family in all they did. He will be remembered for his kindness, gentle nature, and sense of humor.

Interment will be private at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart. A celebration of Harvey’s life will be held at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with his care.
