Isaac DeFreeuw, 16, of Bremen, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. He was born in South Bend on November 27, 2008, to Bruce DeFreeuw and Elizabeth McPhail, who both survive; along with his siblings, Jeff DeFreeuw, Kyle Kreczmer, Cassie Sterling, Alyssa Johnston, Austin, Brandon, and Tyler Young, and Ethan DeFreeuw. Isaac also has many extended family members also surviving.
Isaac found his greatest joy on the football field, proudly playing for the Osceola Grace Eagles, where he gave his all to the game and his teammates. Off the field, he was a true goofball who lived to make people laugh and could light up any room with his smile. He was known for giving the very best hugs. They were always tight, warm, and always perfectly timed. Isaac had a curious and creative spirit, especially when it came to 3D printing. He treasured the little moments most: snuggling under a blanket at home with his dad, cracking jokes with his siblings, or jump-scaring his mom just to hear her yell. To his family, he was everything. Affectionately known as “Bubba,” “Dad’s Sunshine,” and “Mom’s Favorite,” Isaac was deeply loved for exactly who he was. Above all else, Isaac was perfect, funny, kind, loyal, and full of life.
Cremation has taken place with a time to celebrate his life scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 3-4 pm with a brief service at 4, and a special Osceola Eagles Football banquet at 5pm, all at Osceola Grace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Michiana Christian Club Football or Osceola Grace Church.
