Janet M. (Mock) Knapp, 81, of South Bend bravely fought until her death on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at her home with family by her side. She was born in South Bend on June 25, 1944, to the late Merle and Maryjane (Crawford) Mock, and later married Donald “Don” Knapp who still survives.

Along with Don, Janet is survived by her children, Keith (Melanie) Knapp of South Bend, Bruce (Patricia) Knapp of Rosenberg, TX, Tracy Knapp of South Bend, and Brandon (Annie) Knapp of Granger. Two siblings, Lesa Sikora and Gary (Suzanne) Mock; 8 grandchildren, Phillip, Nicole (Matthew) Zbziebko, Hunter, Mason, Grace, Ava, Braylon, and Faith Knapp, 5 great-grandchildren, Chance, Peyton, Eli, Hudson Knapp, and Wyatt Powell, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss her deeply.

Janet was a trusted real estate agent with Re/Max until her retirement in 2000, known for the relationships she built and the care she showed to everyone she served. She had a natural way of connecting with people and was a friend to all she met. Outside of her work, Janet’s family was always her top priority. She enjoyed simple, meaningful moments—camping at Oak Shores in Michigan, spending time reading, sewing, and cooking, and creating handmade afghans that her family will continue to treasure. An encourager by nature, Janet also found strength and community in her faith as a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Cremation has taken place with a time for family and friends to visit scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 1-3pm with prayers and a brief service at 3pm, at Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Elara Caring Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
