Kimberly Kay Holdren, 64, passed away peacefully at her home in Elkhart on March 17, 2026. Born on August 3, 1961, in Mishawaka, Indiana, Kim was the beloved daughter of Jack D. and Barbara Mae (Pontes) Holdren.

A proud graduate of Penn High School, Class of 1980, Kim went on to dedicate many years of service to Cargo Systems in Elkhart. She will be remembered most for her fun-loving personality, generous heart, and the joy she brought to those around her.

"Aunty Kimmy “or "Mama Kimmy", which she was known by many, found happiness in life’s simple pleasures; playing the lottery, enjoying a spiked Slurpee from 7-11, and cooking meals for the people she loved. She had a special gift for making others feel cared for and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Time spent with her family meant everything to her, especially moments shared with her cherished granddaughter, Autumn.

Kim previously bartended at the B&B in Osceola where she met lifelong friends. She had a deep love for classic rock, especially Journey and Bon Jovi and treasured the memories of attending concerts with her sister Laurie.

Kim is survived by her daughter, Shelby (Zach) Atkinson; her beloved granddaughter, Autumn Thrash; and her mother, Barbara Holdren. She was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her second granddaughter, who is due in May 2026. She is also survived by her siblings, Debbie Borden and Laurie (Mark) May; her nieces and nephews, Lacey (Matthew) Weber, Josh (Nicki) Borden, and Braxton Borden; and her great-nieces and nephews, Remi Weber, Indy Weber, Jackson Borden, Emmitt Borden, and Eddie Borden. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Holdren and stepfather Gene Thompson.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the funeral home, with interment to follow in Olive Cemetery West.
