Lawerence "Larry" Steward

Lawrence “Larry” B. Steward, 61, of Mishawaka fought bravely until his passing on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at home with family by his side. He was born on Oct. 1, 1965, in Macon, GA, to the late Stanley Steward and Charlotte (Evans) Ward and later married Jaclyn “Jackie” DeGroote in March of 2008.

Jackie survives along with their children, Kristina Pollard, and Andrew and Marcus Cox. Three grandchildren, and brothers, Michael and Steven Steward, and Michael Chastline also survive.

Larry spent much of his life working with his hands, serving as a laborer on numerous construction projects before injuries forced him to retire. Even after stepping away from work, he was rarely one to sit still, often finding something to tinker with around the house. He loved spending time with his family and checking in on those closest to him, always willing to lend a hand wherever he could. He also had a soft spot for his dogs and enjoyed watching goofy sci-fi shows with Jackie, especially The Twilight Zone and Sven Goolie. He will be missed.

Cremation has taken place with a time for family and friends to pay their respects to be announced at a later date.
