Linda “Lynn” M. Albaugh, 82, entered heavenly rest on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Eskenazi Hospital, Indianapolis, as God humbly favored her life until her last breath. She was born in Gary to the late Emil Victor and Bertha Lee (Stroud) Harmon on March 16, 1943, and later married Danny Albaugh, who joined her in eternity on May 6, after celebrating 29 years of marriage together.
Surviving are her children, Jackie (Brenda) Burdin, and Gwendolyn Burdin, 3 grandchildren, Aaron, Amber, and Tyler Burdin, and 5 great-grandchildren, a brother, William “Bill” Hart, and sister-in law Judy Burdin, also survive. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Carolyn and Martha, and a great-grandchild.
Lynn retired as a seamstress for her family’s Sandpipers van conversion company and retired from Godfrey marine years later. She had a passion for adventure, taking flying lessons so she could fly the plane Jack Burdin gifted her, and traveling across the country. She also loved snowmobiling and gardening and had a special love in her heart for all animals, especially cardinals, hummingbirds, and her faithful friend, Ryker. Lynn found joy in cooking, baking, and canning for family and friends, crocheting and sharing her craft with others at church, and enjoying her swimming pool with loved ones
A joint service will be held to honor both Lynn and Danny on Thursday, May 15th from 5-8pm at New Creation Fellowship, Granger, with a service scheduled, Friday, May 16, at 1pm. Entombment at Rice Cemetery will follow the service.
