Linda Lucile Stover, age 80, of Elkhart, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Linda was born October 3, 1946, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She worked for General Motors for over 27 years and later worked part time at Family Dollar in Goshen.
On June 30, 1992, she married Hermitt “Smokey” Stover in Ohio. They recently celebrated 34 years of marriage and enjoyed riding together on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Linda was a loving wife and mother who also loved her dogs.
Smokey survives, along with Linda’s daughters, Shirley (Nathan) Hammond, Sherri Johnson, and Sheila (Andy) Heisler; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Karen LeMaster and Marty Polmounter. She was preceded in death by her father, George F. Raymond; her mother, Helen (LaCombe) Talbot; and her son-in-law, Richard Johnson.
Linda enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to the flowers and plants in her gardens. She had a green thumb and kept her bird feeders full. One of her favorite places was her deck, where she could watch the river and the birds. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, where she often had luck on her side. Her family will miss her greatly.
In accordance with Linda’s wishes, no services will be held. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with her care.
