Mary Alice Longoria Saldivar

Mary Alice L. Saldivar, age 58, of Elkhart, passed away on August 18, 2026, at the Center for Hospice, Esther House. She was born on February 26, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Raul and Manuela (Longoria) Saldivar. Mary Alice was a proud graduate of Southwest High School, Class of 1986.

Mary Alice was a devoted homemaker who loved her family deeply. She enjoyed shopping for antiques, traveling throughout Michigan, and spending time with those she loved most. She will be remembered as an amazing cook, always eager to try new recipes for her family, and her potato salad was considered “world famous” by those fortunate enough to enjoy it. Mary Alice had a caring and welcoming spirit that made everyone feel at home. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was raised in the Baptist Church, and later attended New Hope Church, where she volunteered as an usher and served in the church food pantry.

She is survived by her fiancé, Timothy Rinehardt; her children, Joshua (Erica T.) Saiz, Jordan (Andrea) Saiz, Crystal Saiz, Stephanie Saiz, Jonathon (Amanda) Saiz, and JoLynn Saiz; and her 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Raul (Susan) Saldivar Jr. and Sylvia (Mark) Rasko. Mary Alice was preceded in death by her infant children, Leo and Jocelyn Saiz; her son, Jeremiah Saiz; her grandson, Joshua Saiz; and her sister, Helen Saldivar.

A celebration of Mary Alice’s life will be held at a later date. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with her care.
