82 years well lived. Mary Ann passed away on April Fool’s Day 2026, after a longer than expected battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love in death, just as she was in life. Her parents William Brower and Helen Brower precede her in death, as does her one true love, Raul Ochoa. Her children Nathan, Rachel, and Sarah were with her to the end, as was her brother, Bill Brower.
Her time on earth was filled with adventure, laughter, love, and of course, tears. She has lived all over the country, traveled the globe, but somehow managed to always be there for those in need. She loved writing, and her thoughts often turned to poetry on the page. She loved her family fiercely and dearly, whether by blood, marriage, or choice, all were held in her heart equally.
From her childhood spent in Elkhart, Indiana and on Lake Michigan near Holland, Michigan, to her young adulthood spent on the east and west coast, to life in the Rocky Mountains, every place she touched became a story, a connection to the people there.
There will be a celebration of life this summer, a time to share thoughts and memories and most importantly, love and laughter. In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to remember those you love, call the ones you can, and hug somebody you love.
