Mattie R. Ulrich, 91, of Bourbon, formerly of Osceola, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born in Arthur, IL on February 15, 1934, to the late Roman D. and Katie (Otto) Miller. She later married Earl Ulrich, who preceded her in death in July 2016 after 57 years of marriage.

Surviving is Mattie’s daughter, Sharon (Ryan) Minnich of Elkhart; granddaughters Kristen (Michael) Darst of Fishers, Kimberly (Jeff) Swygart of Wakarusa, and Kari (Blake) Hubley of Austin, MN; five great grandchildren; and three sisters, Deenie Briskey, Irene Yoars, and Katie Elfrink. Along with her parents and husband, Mattie was preceded in death by her daughters, Judy Ann and Lyn Marie; two great grandchildren and seven siblings.

Her heart was anchored in faith. A devoted member of St. Mark Missionary Church for nearly 50 years, she lived out the Gospel in word and deed. Whether in worship, fellowship, or service, she radiated the love of Christ. Her life was a reflection of Proverbs 31: “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

For over 25 years, Mattie faithfully stewarded Osceola Cleaners, serving her community with excellence and grace. Her work was a reflection of her walk with Christ—marked by humility, diligence, and care. As a member of the Osceola Business Association, she built relationships rooted in kindness and generosity. A gifted seamstress, she blessed others with quilts, crafts, and paintings that carried love into many homes. She and her husband found joy in God’s creation, traveling the country in their RV and cherishing each adventure. Her life was a testimony of faith, service, and gratitude.

A time to celebrate her life is scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2025, with visitation from 10–11 a.m. and service following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Missionary Church. Burial will follow at California Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Center for Hospice Care or Alzheimer’s Association.
