Listen to Obituary

Michael “Mike” Allen Luttrell, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home on September 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet wisdom.

Born on March 5, 1960, Michael was a man who lived with purpose and heart. He was a proud father to Sarah (Jeff) Martin and a beloved grandfather to six grandchildren: Jace, Grace, Aycen, Brandon Martin, Hunter, and Madalynn Luttrell. They brought him endless joy and truly brought out the best in him. His children and grandchildren were his world, and he poured his heart into being a devoted dad and Papa, faithfully attending sporting events and cheering them on in every accomplishment with a sweet treat in his pocket for them.

Michael was a devoted son to Sandra and William Morse and a loyal brother to Robin (Mike) Keesler and Martin (Michelle) Luttrell. He also leaves behind his children’s mother and dear friend, Kathleen Rockwell; a host of nieces and nephews; and his loyal best friend of 56 years, Charles (Virginia) Collett.

A gifted machinist, Michael had a talent for fixing just about anything—from cars to buildings—and was always busy with a project. He was the first person his family would call when something needed repair. He also had a lifelong love of hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting, and found peace and happiness in the outdoors. At home, he enjoyed tending to his plants and flowers, which reflected his nurturing spirit and gave him great pride as he watched them flourish. Michael was also a lover of music, an accomplished guitar player, and once a member of a band—sharing his creativity and joy with those around him. He was an avid University of Michigan Football fan and never missed a game on tv and friendly banter with his family and friends who cheered for opposing teams.

Michael was preceded in death by his son, Michael Luttrell, and his father, Archie Luttrell.

His steady presence, kind heart, and devotion to family will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on through the family he treasured, the friends he cherished, and the life he lived with quiet dignity and love.
