Nick Dwight Hager, age 60 of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Nick was born October 26, 1965, in Elkhart, Indiana to Jewell and Dorothy (Fields) Hager. He was a proud graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School and later took a position in receivership with Dave Carter Associates of Elkhart where he enjoyed working with vendors and staff.

Nick is survived by his mother, Dorothy Hager of Elkhart and his daughters, Taylor (Thomas) Pajor of LaPorte and Paige McKenzie Hager of Elkhart. He is also survived by his siblings Natalie Hager of Goshen and Jewel Hager of Elkhart, along with the mother of his children, Michael Hager. He was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Jewell Hager in 2014, and his sister Cindy Hager in 1983.

Nick's greatest joy came from his role as a father to his daughters. He loved every moment spent with them, often sharing his dry sense of humor through daily texts filled with the "bad joke of the day." His love for his family was evident, and he loved being a dad to his girls.

In his spare time, Nick was a devoted fan of Indiana University sports, especially football and basketball. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time by the water. He had a love for cooking and enjoying a fine meal and was a self-professed history buff who often quizzed his daughters on the events of the world. Nick also enjoyed watching movies and documentaries on the History Channel and spending time spoiling his cat, "Kali.”
