Patricia “Pat” Scarlett, 77, of Osceola bravely fought until she passed away, Friday, June 27, 2025, with family by her side. She was born on November 14, 1947, in South Bend to the late John and Velma (Graczol) Graszli.
Pat is survived by her sole mate Larry Vandusen, children, Salene (Steve) Scarlett-Roth of Osceola, Dawn Jewell of Green Back, TN, and Johnny Scarlett, of Goshen. Five grandchildren, Nathaniel (Lauren) Graszli, Heather Swanson, Ashley (Terry) Burkhead, Emma Swanson, and David (Shelby) Swanson, and 10 great-grabndchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Hack.
Pat was a fierce, determined, and strong woman. She was unapologetically herself and deeply loved. She made a name for herself as the proud owner and operator of an auto detailing shop, where her meticulous work and high standards set her apart. But beyond her business, Pat was best known as the “cookie lady,” not just to her family, but even to the squirrels in her neighborhood whom she lovingly hand-fed. Pat would cook for anyone and everyone, always ready with a warm plate of her famous spaghetti. Pat had a big heart for people and an even bigger one for animals, with a special passion for wildlife.
In accordance with the families’ wishes, cremation has taken place with no formal services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Joseph County Humane Society.
