Richard Wayne Chandonia, 54, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 16, 2025. He was born on August 4, 1970, in Elkhart, Indiana. Known by many names, Rich, Rick, Woodrow, and Candyman, Richard worked for many years as a roofer in the Michiana area with South Bend Roofing and Sherriff Goslin Roofing. Outside of work, he had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He loved cooking and often shared meals with those in need. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He’ll be remembered for his generosity, humor, and the warmth he brought to those around him.
Richard is survived by his children, Jacob Gorski, Shanelle Wiltz, Carla Wiltz, Chassity Wiltz, and Brandon Wiltz, and his siblings: Valerie (David) Dircks, Jon (Amanda) Gloster, Jeremy (Virginia) Chandonia, Aimee (Darin) Blocker, Justin Chandonia, Dennis (Julieta) Gloster, and Lee (Laura) Gloster, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Val Gene Chandonia and Francis Diane (Reynolds) Gloster.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Epic Church, located at 3524 Harrison Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46544. A celebration of life will follow at 5:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Karleen Hallock.
