Robert Lee “Bob” Terry, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2022, while surrounded by his family at his home in Elkhart. Bob was born November 22, 1958, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Darrell and Beatrice “Bobbie” (Gulley) Terry. He was a graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School and applied the skills he learned at the Elkhart Career Center to his long career as a mechanical designer at Bayer (formerly Miles Laboratories). Throughout his 38-year career at Bayer, Bob worked diligently in designing Diabetes Care products that led to several patents. On October 3, 1987, he married Colleen Enick in Elkhart, Indiana. They recently celebrated their 35th anniversary. Throughout their 35 years their love for one another allowed them to cherish family and friends to the grateful hearts of all receivers.
He is survived by his wife Colleen of Elkhart and their children April (Ernie) Lepore of Lake Tapps, Washington, and Andrew (Tiffanie) Terry of Shipshewana, Indiana. Also surviving are his parents Darrell and Bobbie Terry of Fort Wayne, his grandchildren whom he loved dearly,
Madelyn and Vincent Lepore of Lake Tapps, WA and his brother William
(Anne) Terry of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Surviving as well are his
nephews Chris (Molly) Terry, Evan Terry, Will Terry and Jacob (Jamie)
Enick, his nieces Rachael (Ericko) Borrero and Callie (Kyle) McDaniel,
and his brothers in law William (Beth) Enick and Dale (Carrie) Enick.
Bob attended Granger Missionary Church where he enjoyed spending time
with his “Life Group.” He also enjoyed playing golf and loved
restoring and collecting cars. Bob was a shareholder and lifetime fan
of the Green Bay Packers. He and Colleen were blessed to be able to
make memories attending an overtime victory at Lambeau Field this
season. Recently, they were able to travel to Washington, Kansas,
Cancun and Missouri.
Bob was a gentle soul, and his sense of compassion, kindness, quick
wit and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by his family, friends
and co-workers. We are better versions of ourselves and fortunate to
have been in his world and a recipient of his presence in our lives.
Bob and his family also enjoyed taking trips to Walt Disney World in Florida. Bob was passionate about anything Disney related. He and the family had recently planned his 31st trip to Walt Disney World and plan to keep his memory alive whenever watching Disney movies and enjoying return visits. When we attend car shows we know Bob will be
present and marvel at their innovative designs. When we cheer on the
Green Bay Packers, we will remember Bob as the first Packer fan in the
Terry family and how it has transcended generations.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr Bilal
Ansari, his Physician's Assistant, Beth and staff at Michiana
Hematology Oncology and Center for Hospice Care for their
attentiveness and medical expertise. Additionally, we would like to
thank the many family and friends who provide comfort and support
through messages, visits, meals, prayers and love.
In his memory, donations may be made to the Center for Hospice or
