Tamra Grosse

June 12, 1965 — July 16, 2025

New Paris

Tamra Sue Grosse, age 60, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 10:42 a.m. in her camper at Prairie Camp surrounded by her family singing, “Great is Thy Faithfulness”.

Tammy was born on June 12, 1965, in Elkhart to Devon Lawrence and Barbara (Rouch) Brogdon.

She married David P. Grosse on October 15, 1988, at Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren. After living in Goshen for six years, they moved to New Paris where they raised a beautiful family together with four children: Isaac (Stacy) Grosse of Millersburg, Sarah (Emenim) Andrews of South Bend, Aaron (Kelli) Grosse of Mishawaka, and Hannah (Jared) Couture of High Ridge, Missouri; 5 grandchildren: Nicolai, Judah and Lydia Grosse, Hezekiah Couture and Zeal Andrews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Brogdon, sister, Faith Bontrager and stepmother, Joan Lawrence. She is survived by her father, Devon (Kay) Lawrence, husband, children, grandchildren, a brother, David Allen Lawrence, and stepsiblings, Andrew (Miriam) Hill of New Brighton, MN, Edward (Dawn) Hill of Evansville, and Kimberly (John) Jagar of Kimmel.

Tammy spent much of her adult life circuit board soldering at both Crown International and Inventure Electronics. She was an accomplished knitter and enjoyed cruising. While her children were growing up, she loved watching them perform, never missed competition and made lasting memories traveling out west. Later in life she found the love of cruising and took advantage of every opportunity she could to get family and friends on the water cruising the Caribbean.

Tammy was a devoted follower of Christ Jesus having surrendered her life to the will of God at the age of 18 after watching an evangelistic film promoted by Billy Graham. She knew the need to ask for forgiveness, believed Jesus was the Son of God and died for her, and she accepted His perfect will for her life. She loved family camp, church and worshipping her Savior. She was a faithful member of the New Paris Missionary Church, and it grieved her to miss a Sunday. While Tammy loved her family deeply, the love she had for worshipping her Savior was evident to all who knew her.

The family will receive friends and family for one hour prior to the 12:00 p.m. service on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the New Paris Missionary Church where Rev. David Hackney will be officiating with the assistance of her son, Pastor Aaron Grosse, and her son-in-law, Worship Leader Emenim Andrews. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Whitehead Cemetery in New Paris, Indiana near David’s paternal grandparents.
