Tyler David Ransbottom, age 22, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on September 28, 2003, and grew up in Mishawaka, where he attended Mishawaka High School. Ty most recently worked as a customer service representative in Jackson, Michigan and was known for being a hard worker, something he learned from watching his parents.

Ty was engaged to Roxanne “Roxie” Kurts of Jackson and was excited for the future they were planning together. He had been working toward becoming an electrician so he could give Roxie the “princess wedding” he wanted her to have. He loved spending time with her, especially on long car rides and quiet walks outdoors.

Family meant everything to Ty. He is survived by his father, Ben Ransbottom and his wife Jamie of Lafayette, Indiana, his mother, Adrienne Taylor of Jackson, and his siblings, Kyle and Dylan Ransbottom who were his twin brothers, Seth Taylor, Sydney Ransbottom, Grayson Ransbottom and Emery Ransbottom. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Julie Etchison and his paternal grandparents, Tamie Soland and Randy Ransbottom. Ty was especially close to his cousins, Nigel Newland, Drake Newland, Collin Watkins, Haylee Cooper, Breanna Cooper, Jazmin Goorhouse and Damien Goorhouse, and he adored his young second cousin, Augustine Watkins, who he lovingly called his little “Chili Pepper.” He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Etchison.

Ty had a big heart and a joyful spirit. He loved kids and looked forward to becoming a father someday. He enjoyed cooking and baking, especially anything involving hot wings that were as spicy as he could make them. He loved all kinds of music and was rarely without his headphones. Rap was his favorite, especially Juice Wrld whose lyrics he connected with. Ty had written several rap songs of his own and hoped to publish them one day. He was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Michigan Wolverines football teams, and he liked to dress in his favorite colors, black and purple. His family remembers his great laugh and the way he showed love through his actions, even when he did not say the words out loud.

Ty cherished his time with his mom and loved their trips to Chicago to see the Christmas lights. He also enjoyed playing video games online with family, especially Fortnite, The Bronx and Call of Duty.
