Brenda Jean “Asphalt Angel” Jones, age 66, passed away at her home in Elkhart on Saturday, July 18, 2020. Brenda was born July 30, 1953 in Elkhart, Indiana to Lon and Betty (Haley) Jones.

She is survived by her children Christina Mann, Cathie Rodgers, and Adam Hawkins. Surviving as well are 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, along with her siblings Sheila (James) Steinke, Shirley (Kenny) Hayes, and Nancy Ebright. She is also survived by her former husband Chuck Butler Sr.

There will be no visitation or services. Cruz Family Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Brenda was employed as a CNA for many years. Her passion for racing led to her nickname “Asphalt Angel” and she drove late model and street stock cars on tracks throughout the Midwest for over 25 years.
