Brian Scott Brockway Jr., age 33 of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2022.  Brian was born June 24, 1988.  He was a graduate of Penn High School, class of 2007, where he ran track and cross country.  On October 10, 2020, he married Kimberley Jean Kryski in South Bend.

Kimberley survives, along with his daughter, Kennedie Brockway and his parents Brian Scott and Pamela Ann (DeMeester) Brockway of Osceola. Brian is survived as well by his stepchildren Preston, Payton, Persayus and Parker Richard and his sisters Kelli (Jeremy) Horvath and Jill Brockway.  Surviving as well are his grandparents Marylou Brockway and John and Delores DeMeester and his nieces and nephews Tyler, Payton and Ashila Brockway, Trenton and Kydin Horvath, Zion and NaXyia Rassi, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 6:00pm funeral service on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  The family will also be hosting a celebration of Brian’s life at 1:00pm Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the South Bend First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1936 Altgeld St, South Bend, IN 46614.

Brian was employed for several years as the manager at Discount Tire in Mishawaka.  More recently, he was employed by Heartland and Forest River RV’s.  In his youth, he played Little League baseball and he loved riding dirt bikes and motorcycles. He also loved to wrestle and play football with his friends. Brian was also a huge fan of the Chicago Bears and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. His hobbies outside of work were working on restoring his dad’s 1970 Camaro and other cars and taking walks with his wife Kimberley to feed the squirrels in St. Patrick’s Park and spending time in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Most of all, Brian had a heart of gold and a generous spirit about him.  He would be the first to offer help to others whenever needed. His caring nature was showcased in the way he loved his family and friends, and the smile he wore often. His entire life revolved around his daughter and his family.  He also loved to help those who helped him through the hard times in his life. His generosity towards others will be remembered forever by those he has helped.
