Cathy Lynn Burroughs

Catherine Lynn Burroughs, age 64 of Lakeland, Florida passed away on May 5, 2020 at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.  Cathy was born June 17, 1955 in Lafayette, Indiana to Arthur W. and Patricia J. (Jackson) Burroughs.  Cathy was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School, and later graduated from Purdue University. 

She is survived by her mother Patricia J. Burroughs, her sisters Cindy (Dan) Traeger of Austin, Texas and JoAnn (Ryan) Sergeant of Elkhart, Indiana.  Also surviving is her nephew Ethan Sergeant and her niece Clara Sergeant.  Cathy is also survived by her closest friends Martha Lloyd and Cheryl Buford, both of Lakeland, Florida.  Her father Arthur preceded her in death in 1980 and her stepfather Larry Wiemken preceded her in death in 2016.

A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held in Lakeland at a later time.  Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola, Indiana is assisting with the arrangements.

Cathy was an active member of the Willow Oak Assembly of God church in Mulberry, Florida where she enjoyed helping in the church’s library.   In her spare time, she was an avid reader and crafter.
