Christopher G. Godfrey

Christopher Gary Godfrey, 47, of Mishawaka died Monday, September 25, 2023, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis after a short illness. He was born on November 17, 1975, to James Hill and Toni (Alwood) in Auburn. Toni Re-married to Gary Godfrey in 1989 and Christopher was adopted by Gary on December 18, 2000.

Christopher was preceded in death by his biological Father and Grandparents.

His parents are surviving, along with three siblings, Cory Hill, Karen (Shaun) Dubie, and Kelly (Tim) Aberli, and three special nieces and nephew, Kamryn and Olivia Dubie, and Mallory and Clark Alberi. He is also survived by Clela (Mike) Glass, Sandy (Harold) Durfey, Becky (Jeff) Zimmerman, Linda (James) Lauer, Larry (Lelie) Hill, David (Terri) Hill, Mike (Joan) Godfrey, and Cindy (Bob) Gamble.

Christopher was an inspiration to not only his family, but those he encountered on a daily basis. His smile and loving, positive attitude, even in the face of adversity, drew people to him. It was this same attitude that allowed people to easily recall their time spent with Christopher. Those closest to him recalled Christopher truly enjoyed teasing his mom and dad and watching Minnesota Viking and Notre Dame Football.

A service to honor Christopher’s life is scheduled for 1 pm on October 12, 2023, at Osceola United Methodist Church. Pastor Daryl Gilbert officiating. The burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery at a later date.
