David Earl Etchison, age 66 of Mishawaka, passed away at home surrounded by his family on the morning of December 15, 2020.  David was born July 21, 1954 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Lawrence L. and Dorothy C. David Earl Etchison, age 66 of Mishawaka, passed away at home surrounded by his family on the morning of December 15, 2020.  David was born July 21, 1954 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Lawrence L. and Dorothy C. (Phillips) Etchison.  Following graduation from high school, David attended Indiana University and was a proud supporter of IU athletics his entire life.  On March 12, 1977, he married Julie Briggs in Bloomington, Indiana.  They recently celebrated 43 years of marriage.

Julie survives, along with their daughters Allison Blume of Mishawaka and Adrienne Taylor of Niles, Michigan.  Surviving as well are his seven grandsons Nigel and Drake Blume, Collin Watkins, Tyler, Kyle and Dylan Ransbottom and Seth Taylor.  He is survived as well by his siblings Gary (Sue) Etchison, Sandra (Bob) Randolph, and Jim Etchison, all of Martinsville, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his siblings Larry and Rick Etchison, Kathy Tackett, Carol Sue Etchison and Natalie Randolone. 

There will be no services at this time.  The family will hold a memorial service at a later time. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola is assisting with the arrangements.

David was employed for many years in the lamination shop at Dynamax.  In his spare time he enjoyed camping and traveling with his family and doing word search and crossword puzzles. He was also a licensed official for the IHSAA in football, basketball, baseball and softball where he refereed and umpired many high school games for several years. 

David also was involved with the First General Baptist Church in Osceola where he served in the choir, on the drama team, and was the president of the Men’s Brotherhood group for several years.
