David C. Miller

David C. Miller, age 80, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 22, 2021 with his family by his side at his home in Elkhart.  Dave was born November 15, 1940 in LaGrange County, Indiana to the late Vanus and Edith (Woodworth) Miller.  On June 10, 1961, he married Joyce Johnson in Elkhart.  They celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Joyce survives, along with their children Laura Dunithan and her husband Stephen of Elkhart and Mike Miller and his wife Tami of Osceola.  Surviving as well are his grandchildren Faith Dunithan, Shane Miller, Josh (Megan) Miller, Scott Miller and Tim Miller and his great grandchildren James and Emma Miller.  He is survived as well by his siblings RuthAnn Shirley, Peggy Basse, Shirley Rumfelt, and Richard Miller.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Miller.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola. Services will be held at 1pm Friday, February 26, 2021 at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola with interment to follow in Olive Cemetery.  Dave’s grandson Scott Miller will officiate the services.

Dave was employed for over 36 years as a delivery driver for Amerigas Propane in Elkhart.  In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting and gardening.  He also loved watching Westerns on tv, working puzzles, reading and playing games on his Ipad.   He was also an avid fan of sports and followed both the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers. 

Most of all, Dave loved his family and was extremely proud of all of his grandchildren.  During their school years, Dave was happy to serve as a “chauffeur” for all of his grandchildren to and from school.  His sense of humor and peaceful demeanor will be greatly missed.
