Doris F. (Shafer) Carlisle

Doris “Petie” (Shafer) Carlisle, age 80, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2022, at her home in Mishawaka. She was born December 27, 1941, in Plymouth, Indiana to the late Rosco and Edna (Davis) Shafer. Doris was a graduate of Argos High School. On June 3, 1962, in Argos, she married Phil A Carlisle.

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Phil A. Carlisle of Mishawaka and their children, Russell (Donna) Carlisle of St. Louis, Missouri, Cynthia Carlisle of Mishawaka, and Stephen (Christy) Carlisle of New Carlisle as well as 3 Grandchildren and 4 Great Granddaughters and another Great Granddaughter on the way. Surviving as well is her stepbrother John (Michelle) Shafer of Fortville Indiana. 

Following her high school graduation, she worked at Culver Military Academy, then at Schmucker middle in the cafeteria before taking a position with Teachers Credit Union in the title department before retiring in 2005.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Monday, March 7, 2022, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Cruz Family Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Doris was a longtime member of Shepherds Heart Fellowship in Osceola and in her spare time, she enjoyed being with her family and friends, spending time camping and being outdoors, quilting, and doing ceramics with her best friend.
