Douglas Slone

Douglas Slone, age 66, passed away at his home on July 13, 2023. Doug was born December 22, 1956 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Walker P. and Virginia J. (Caudill) Slone. Doug was a graduate of Warsaw High School and worked for over 20 years with Kevco (now Patrick Industries) before his retirement in 2019.

He is survived by his daughters Laurie Marquez of Granger, Heather Nahar of Elkhart, and Ginny Smith of Granger, along with 12 grandchildren and his siblings Maynard Paul Jr. and Eugene (Karen) Slone, both of Warsaw, John (Kathleen) Slone of Columbia City, Indiana, Jimmy (Erin) Slone and Brenda (Daniel) Reese, both of Elkhart.

There will be no visitation or services. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with his care.

In his spare time, Doug enjoyed reading books about the Old West and watching Westerns on TV, hanging around with the many friends he connected with at J.D’s Watering Hole, dancing, and singing karaoke.

Doug will forever be remembered as a fun-loving individual and a friend who brought laughter and happiness into the lives of others. His genuine warmth and infectious personality endeared him to all who crossed his path. The memories shared with Doug will be treasured forever, reminding us of the joy he brought to our lives.
