Edd Banks

Edd Banks, age 82, passed away at his home in Elkhart on Monday, October 2, 2023.  Edd was born December 18, 1940, in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Bill and Angie Banks.  On March 3, 1962, he married Lena Ousley.  They celebrated 53 years before her passing in April of 2015.

He is survived by his sons Edd A. (Pam) Banks of Elkhart and Chris (Brenda) Banks of Middlebury.  Surviving as well are his 5 grandchildren; Allen Banks, Amber Banks-Smith, Cara Abair, Christian Banks Jr. and Ashley Banks, and 7 great-grandchildren.  Edd is also survived by his sisters Wanita Collins and Bonita Enter, both of South Carolina.  He was preceded in death by his siblings Mary Neace, Bill Banks, Jim Banks, Den Banks, Paul Banks, Burgess Banks and Kathy Ratliff.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am Friday, October 13, 2023, in the Liberty Garden on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.  Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola has been entrusted with his care.

Edd was employed by Riblet Building Products as a machine operator for over 29 years before retiring at the age of 49. In his younger years, Edd enjoyed spending time fishing in the numerous lakes and rivers throughout the area. He will be remembered as a simple man who enjoyed life on the farm raising hogs, chickens and cattle.
