Elizabeth June "Lizzy" Johnson-Neher

Elizabeth June “Lizzy” Johnson, age 18 of Mishawaka passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020.  Lizzy was born June 5, 2002 in Mishawaka, Indiana.  She was employed at McDonald’s on 331 in Mishawaka and was pursuing a degree as a paralegal.  She was engaged to Clayton McLish of Osceola and they were together when they passed. 

Surviving is her father Shane Neher and his girlfriend Brook Taylor of Mishawaka, her mother Tammy Duncan of Mishawaka, her siblings Addison James, Tyler Neher, Alexis Neher, Bentley Neher and Ryder Neher, and her grandparents Sherry Estergren of Mishawaka, Dennis Banks of Alaska and Mark Harrington of South Bend.  Surviving as well is her aunt Megan Binder of Osceola, and a very close friend of the family, Angel Buck of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Jennifer Johnson. 

A vigil will be held form Lizzy at 7pm Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the site of her accident on the corner of 13th and Spring Streets in Mishawaka. Visitation will be held from 12pm-2pm Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Cruz Family Funeral Home where her father Shane will share some memories of Lizzy at 2pm at the funeral home before leaving for interment in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

Lizzy was a great student and loved to study.  She would always take time out of her busy schedule to help her brothers and sisters with anything they needed.  She loved roller skating, hunting, target shooting and spending time outdoors. Lizzy enjoyed listening to classic rock and old school rap, swimming in the family pool and working on cars.

Most of all, Lizzy was a kind and caring woman whose bright spirit and laugh will be greatly missed.
