Faustino Gomez Hernandez

Faustino Hernandez Gomez, age 68 of Elkhart, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Mr. Hernandez was born February 15, 1954, in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late Benigno and Marta (Gomez) Hernandez. In 1990, he married Eugenia Ortega.

He is survived by his wife Eugenia Hernandez of Elkhart and their children Juana Maria Hernandez(Rafael),Jose (Eva) Faustino Hernandez, Lucio (Beatriz) Hernandez, Juan (Gracie) Ortega, Adrian (San Juana) Ortega, Cecilia (Luis G.) Zuniga, Olga Y. Hernandez, Elizabeth (Isaias) Hernandez-Salinas, Faustino (Stephanie) Hernandez Jr. and Rafael B. Hernandez(Veronica).  Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

There will be no formal services for Mr. Hernandez, but the family asks that you remember him in your own way.  Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola has been entrusted with his care.

Faustino was employed as a maintenance mechanic for Borntrager Roofing for many years. In his spare time, he loved to spend time with his family and friends.  He loved working as a mechanic and inventing tools to help him with his job.  He also enjoyed working around his home, going to flea markets and collecting tools, cars, jewelry and hats.
