Harvey Eugene Fergison

Harvey Eugene Fergison, age 79 of Osceola, passed away following a brief illness at Elkhart General Hospital on Sunday, November 7, 2021.  Harvey was born December 4, 1941, in Waukegan, Illinois to the late Tobias and Dorothy (Rumfelt) Fergison. On December 10, 1975, he married Robin VonSkyHock in Elkhart.  They celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Robin survives, along with their children Scott (Rebecca) Fergison of Osceola, Cindy Hill of Elkhart, Dawn Pyclik and Sherry Fergison, both of Osceola.  Surviving as well are his siblings Esther (Joe) Orban of Granger and Toby Fergison of Clinton, Indiana.  Harvey is also survived by his grandsons Zack, Corey, Eric and Landon Fergison, his granddaughters Stephanie, Lyric, Jamie, McKenzie, Autumn and Madison, a great grandson AJ Fergision and a great granddaughter Eliza Marie. 

Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 4:00 pm funeral service on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola and Harvey will be laid to rest at Olive Cemetery.  Graveside services will be private.

Harvey was a hard worker and accomplished everything he put his mind to.  He was retired after 32 years of employment with Miles Laboratories in Elkhart where he started as a janitor and was promoted through the years to the position of a supervisor.  He was also a security guard and used to plow snow during the hard winters. 

In his spare time, Harvey enjoyed watching NASCAR and attended the races at Michigan International Speedway and the Talladega Motor Speedway where he made lifelong friends and had a blast watching the races.  He was also an avid fan of Terry Labonte and was chosen by his colleagues at Miles Laboratories to represent them and spend the entire day with Mr. Labonte when he came to Elkhart to visit several years ago.

Harvey was also very fond of his Jack Russell Terrier, Miley, who he and Robin adopted many years ago from Pet Refuge.
